    I have a sidebar banner ad zone with 1 column and 4 rows. I have 4 purchased ads to fill these slots, and have uploaded 4 images. On each page reload, the banners rotate position as expected, however, only 3 of the 4 images display, leaving a blank spot with a no-image question mark icon. When the cursor is hovered over the blank spot, instead of the URL to the advertiser's page, the text 'Run script "//"' is seen in the browser status bar.

    Could you link to a page on your site that shows the issue?

    Also, were any of the ads javascript-based?

    http://www.tamarindo.com/

    I created the ad zone, then did the ad purchases, then used the OIOPub Banner Zone widget in the sidebar, and the ads show up, except only 3 out of 4.

    I tried using the javascript code in a text widget, with the same results.

    Looking at the source code, the "blank" ad uses the following html:

    <a title="" href="javascript://" rel="nofollow">
    <img style="width:316px; height:240px; border:0px;" alt="" src="http://www.tamarindo.com/new/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/tambanner.jpg">
    </a>

    The image url doesn't appear to be a valid file. The link url also appears to be blank / missing (hence why javascript:// shows up).

    Well, I'm not sure what is producing that code. As I reload the page several times, all four of the images I uploaded via the purchase section are cycled through, except only three at at time, with one blank. I suppose I can just start all over and see if the problem persists.

    OK, I reset the default ad to zero, no default ad, no default image, and now everything is displaying properly. I guess I just won't worry about using a default ad.

    Hi Simon,

    I'm having a similar problem as above, I have one banner spot with 2 ads sold but they are rotating with a blank spot

    I had default set to fill only unsold spots, and I also tried setting 0 default ads but the blank is still rotating.

    Any suggestions..

    It's the left side (200 x 200px) banner that's having the problem.

    Cheers,

    Belinda

    I can see a blank spot on rotation. When I view the final html code, I can see this:

    <object width="200" height="200" data="?clickTAG=http%3A%2F%2Fboardingexpo.com.au%2Fwp-content%2Fplugins%2Foiopub-direct%2Fmodules%2Ftracker%2Fgo.php%3Fid%3D12" type="application/x-shockwave-flash">
    <param value="?clickTAG=http%3A%2F%2Fboardingexpo.com.au%2Fwp-content%2Fplugins%2Foiopub-direct%2Fmodules%2Ftracker%2Fgo.php%3Fid%3D12" name="movie">
    <param value="high" name="quality">
    <param value="transparent" name="wmode">
    <param value="always" name="allowscriptaccess">
    </object>

    Essentially, it's trying to display a flash ad, but without the flash ad being there (only the link to the target url is present).

    ----

    If you remove default ads completely, temporarily, does the blank spot stop appearing? If it does, can you let me know exactly what information you are adding into the default ads section so that I can check it out?

    Hi Simon,

    Thanks for answering so quickly.
    No, if I remove the default ad the blank spot is still rotating.

    Attached is the html I added for the default ad, but I've now taken it out now.

    I can send a screen capture of the whole page if that would help?

    Thanks!

    Belinda

    Hmmm so probably not related to the default ad then.

    If you're able to get a screenshot of the entire page, it would be useful.

  3.

    Here is a patched together screenshot of the whole page.

    I've used the javascript in widgets to set up the zones.

    Thanks

    Thanks, I'll try and re-create.

    Could you also confirm that you have only 2 purchases showing in the admin area associated with that particular zone? I want to make sure there isn't a 3rd purchase there that might be causing the issue.

    Hi Simon,
    You were right there was an extra ad purchase for that spot that had no banner. I had edited the order to change the price but had not re-imported the ad which resulted in an additional blank ad. Now deleted it's working like a dream.

    One thing I did notice that was unusual while I was checking the purchases page is that when I click on the links under "Type", some of them take me to a completely different zone. Doesn't seem to be affecting anything though.

    If you want to take a look I can email you the passwords.

    Thanks for your help, much appreciated!

    Hmmm might be worth sending over login details, using the site contact form, and I'll take a look.
