Hey everyone.
I just purchased this program and am dieing. I think I'm out 40 bucks
because nowhere on this site does it say that Oio Publisher works with
Blogger. Will it ever work with Blogger? If so, when? Can I get a refund?
We've already sorted this issue out, but for the benefit of others - you need to host your own website for this to work. We don't offer a hosted version of OIOpublisher at the moment, although we may look into it in the future.
I am having real troubles with this. Can someone point me to some installtion instructions for the stand alone version to upload to blogger.
I am bummed since I thought this would be easy.
Hi Jenetta,
Apologies for the problems you've experienced. We did however try and make it as clear as we could that we don't offer a hosted version of the software.
However, v2 will work with blogger in the sense that if you do have somewhere (any webhost with php / mysql) to install OIO you can then display ad zones on any web page that javascript can be included on (such as blogger).
ok- I got it to work. It's ok that you don't host it- It would just be nice if you guys would have a tutorial.
here's the prob now (I also sent an email). I have it hosted one of my servers but since my blog that I want to have the ads is hosted at blogger it will not allow me list it on the marketplace (since the urls do not match)--
help?
Firstly, regarding the marketplace listings. This is something that I've got under review. To give you a better idea, this post I made a few days ago should help. I may well follow it up with a blog post this weekend outlining the situation:

It's not a "quick fix" to change how submissions work (because it has quite a few knock-on effects), so it's something that has to be considered carefully before being implemented. At the moment the focus is on the fixing the final few bug reports coming in, then submissions can be properly revised.
Regarding the installation process, if you have any feedback on what wasn't so simple when installing it, please let me know so that it can be improved in the future. :)
So how will I know when I when it is going to work?
As for the install:
Just knowing what steps to take (and pertinent info like it needed to be installed on the same server as the blog- if that would have been clear up front- I would have known not to even buy it at this point).
When I installed I got several error messages- because I needed to manually input information into the config.php file. It would have been good if that would be in the instructions upfront and where one might look to find that info.
A section of short step by step instructions would be nice and make a section for those self hosting to make sure they have everything in order before purchase.
Well, the script can be installed anywhere - it doesn't need to be installed on the same server as the blog / website it will be used on in order for it to work.
Marketplace submission is a different matter - I've just added a temporary FAQ outlining the submission criteria.
The installation "error messages" are intentionally displayed that way. Like a lot of web scripts, it is there to let you know "you need to do these things in order to continue installation".
What I will do though is add a link from the error screen in the next update, which will explain exactly what each of the errors are, and how to fix them. I initially thought the error messages would be self-explanatory enough, but I agree that a more detailed run through of them can do no harm!
We will be updating the submission procedure to relax these criteria in due course.
so what is due course- a week or 6 months?

thanks
I have a week's holiday next week, so I'd hope to get it done by the end of that.
groovy- thanks
I have it all ready to go after that update.
jenetta
so what's the scoop?

It's on the list (see the latest blog post). Unfortunately I had a few script issues to deal with last week (any user reports become priority), as is a much easier upgrade process (web installer - point and click, no FTP uploading) for the less tech savvy user.
As soon as the web installer is done, I'm on to marketplace submissions. After an automated install / upgrade component, the most requested feature has been to link other sites to an OIO install, hence the priorities.
hey, im a bit new to self hosting,im a blogspot user. i recently bought 1gb hosting just for my Oio. i don't know how to install it. help!
im lost, darn, regret buying this!
