Someone tried to purchase an ad space on my blog using ec credits and there was an error and wouldn't go through so I just tried it a few minutes ago and it did the same to me. Is there a serious problem? I saw in the forum that Graham was able to use the system so why isn't it working on my blog?
I'll need a bit more information:
* what was the error message
* what version of the script are you using? (if not 2.04, please upgrade)
* what is the link to the purchase page?
I left the above message on the entrcard forum and was told to come here. I was using the 2.02 and then upgraded to the 2.04 and it did it with both because I checked it myself.
It goes straight to Entrecard and this is what comes up: Serious error We have a bug in our software, an automatic report has been sent to our developers and more whips are being applied as we speak. We apologise for the inconvenience.
So I left another message and haven't recieved a reply yet. I would appreciate any help below is the second message I left them:
I left the same message as the first one above on the OIO forum. I just upgraded to the 2.04 from the one you mentioned edited:(on the blog) and both have the entrecard payment option and as you can see from the error message I recieved it appears to not make the transaction on your end.

When I go to make a payment, once it goes through to the "pay now" screen (with the EC payment button on it), the price shows up as 10 USD, rather than 1660 EC. The problem is most likely connected to this.
There was an error very early on that displayed in this way, but it was fixed. Could you try deleting all the folders in the "modules" directory, then downloading the plugin once more and uploading it again? This is just to make sure that the entrecard module being used is the latest version.
If the error persists after that, the best course of action might be if I can take a quick look at your site via FTP (since the EC payment option is so new, there might be an error I don't know of yet). If that's ok with you, let me know, and I'll give you the email address to send temporary FTP details to.
I deleted and repeated twice and it still does the same thing.
I forgot to tell you to send the email
Email sent.
Simon have they fixed this yet? I have lost 2 sales because of this.
I was in contact with Graham about it yesterday, to show them the exact problem. I've yet to hear back from Richard (phirate - tech guy), but will be chasing them up about it this afternoon again.
I hope to hear something by Monday that this has been fixed if not then I will be requesting my money back I hope you understand that this is ridiculous and isn't a feasible option for me if it doesn't work. Hope you have a great weekend and I know you're doing your best.
I am having a similar problem. If someone buys an ad with EC credits but then leaves the purchase site and returns to make payment using the purchase code they will be charged the USD rate in EC credits. For Example: they buy a $10 USD (1660EC) ad they end up paying 10 EC.
I am running v2.04 and I have already tried reinstalling.
Thanks
@Jude - Richard was able to check it and says that it looks like you could be using the wrong seller ID?
"While we at EC would be delighted to say we have over 70,551 users, it's sadly untrue. I expect the user has gathered the wrong ID.
In order to make this less error-prone, I have added the seller id to the API key details page, ask the user to retrieve it from there and re-enter it and they should be fine."
I'd therefore also double-check you have the correct seller secret, for the same reason.
@canutour - could you confirm for me that when the initial purchase is made, the value is correct, but if they leave and return later, only then does the value become incorrect?
Simon I am using the correct seller ID, but just to make sure when I clicked to try the API again I received this error message so something is wrong somewhere and it's not something I did or didn't do: We have a bug in our software, an automatic report has been sent to our developers and more whips are being applied as we speak. We apologise for the inconvenience.
By the way I copy and paste for the simple reason that I don't enter any wrong codes.
I have just rechecked the api and this is the seller id they gave me to use 8968 and if you click on this link you will see it goes to someone else https://entrecard.com/details/8968 so now I have to go back and change it back to mine https://entrecard.com/details/70551
I think poor Richard has made an error.
I just constructed a test url using the new seller ID you quoted (8968) along with the seller secret I sent to Richard for testing when the error initially came up.
The test was successful, and it has confirmed that 8968 is the correct seller ID for your account.
Okay I'll try it, but they said in the ec forum the seller id was the one attached to your ec account. Did it go to my account?
I just checked and it works, but they should make it clear to others that it's not the number associated with their ec widget,(edited) but the number that appears in the address bar some of us are kind of obtuse, my apologises to Simon and Richard.
