I'm not sure if this is possible, but...

I want to add one 250x80 banner above my 125x125 block ads (4 of them) on my site. Is this possible to do with OIOPublisher? Should I try adding a second zone possibly... I can't get it to work. As of right now, I don't want it to be available to advertisers, I want to use it myself.

If it helps, my site is at excelhints.com.

In what way is it not working? Not sure if this is how the experts would do it, but I'd add it as a zone 2 and then just run my own banner or set of banners through the default ads section. Defaults ads are not included in stats though so you would not get CTR like that.

You'd certainly need a 2nd ad zone, as each zone will only take 1 ad format.

As sammia said, you could just use a default ad in the 2nd zone to show the ad, or if you want stats, you could use the admin purchase editor to create an ad for that zone (which would also make it unavailable to advetisers, if you set the zone to only accept 1 ad).

When you said you can't get it to work, are there any problems you are having in particular?

Thanks for the reply. I tried to add a 2nd zone, but I'm using the widget for Zone 1 to appear in the sidebar. How do I add a 2nd zone through the widgets in the sidebar since they are both banner ad zones?... I guess that is my question.

This Wordpress plugin should do the job:

    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/php-code-widget/

It lets you add php code to any number of widgets. You could therefore take the OIO banner zone php output code and use it with a "php code" widget.

I added a banner to zone 2, then added the widget from your link above. I then added the php code from the banner section of the settings after setting up the ad (at 250x80 pixels) that I wanted after doing a custom purchase at zero dollars for the ad with my settings. But when I look at my site, no banner shows up (it does look like it recognizes some code is there because the block ads have moved down slightly, but no banner is showing up above them).

Thanks for all the help with this... my goal is to have a contest on my site and I want to place the banner describing it right there.

    Thanks,
    John

At the moment, you have to set a zone price for the zone to display. Did you set a price in the banner settings for that zone?

People won't be able to purchase that spot, as long as you have only allowed 1 ad maximum (with no ad queue) for that zone.

That worked. I didn't realize we had to have an ad price for the ad to show up. Thanks again.
