Simon, when I upgraded OIO, it says to chmod upload folder to 766. Now I just noticed that if a client uploaded a banner to my site, it doesn't gets uploaded except I change permission to 777. Although right now it works but I afraid of risking the upload folder wide open like that. What you reckon?

I'd suggest talking to the host to see what the security implications are. If they've limited file uploads to directories with 777, they may have also made sure it is still secure.
