Ok my last question for today :-)

I'd like to open website from (most of) my advertisers in a new window but I can only set this globally and that way my default ads (mostly inhouse ads pointing to another part of my website) open in a new window too and i really don't want that.

Is it possible to override the settings for Default Ads? (Having this setting as an option for all ads would be a great addition to v3 btw. ;-))

Off topic: I'm using OIO for 2 days now and I'm absolutely loving it... this is without a question the best ad solution for wordpress.

Hmmm it's not that easy as things stand, since currently all the ad data is merged into a single array and dealt with as if they were the same type. I'll have a think about it though.

    Hey!

Can you update us on this? I use one of the Zones to contain internal ads that need to stay in the same window. Other Zones contain third party ads that must open in new windows. If you could give me an update on this, that would be very useful.

    Thanks a million!

    Dave

I think it should now be possible. You can create "html" default ads - allowing you to add the <a> tag with the target="_blank" attribute yourself:

    SAME WINDOW

    <a href="http://targetsite.com"><img src="http://targetimg.com" alt="" /></a>

    NEW WINDOW

    <a href="http://targetsite.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://targetimg.com" alt="" /></a>

Hi, What do you mean by "html" default ads?

The only ad types I can choose from are these?
    » New Post
    » New Text Ad
    » New Inline Ad
    » New Banner Ad
    » New Custom Purchase

An html ad is where you can put in whatever html you want, as opposed to just an image and link (which OIO then uses to create the html itself).

There are two ways to do this:

1.) As a default ad - via the "Ad zones" section of the OIO admin area. Choose an ad zone, then scroll to the bottom of the page to find the default ads section. You can choose the "html" type from there.

2.) As a purchase - when creating a purchase (e.g. new banner ad), use the "ad code" field to put in your html and ignore the image upload / target link fields.
