After doing a tour of OIO, it seems that if I want to sell ads for a specific blog post, I will need to create a dedicated zone and then add in the PHP code to test for the post id every time. Any plans to build in this kind of functionality? It would be great if I could indicate post ids in the Zone properties to restrict the ads.
What kind of restriction would you want?
No one's displayed much interest in selling ads for just an individual post (other than using the inline links option).
2 scenarios I can imagine:
1) A blog with many posts but 80% of the traffic is only going to a handful of posts. Selling ads specific to those high traffic posts would allow better targeting.
2) In WP, you can create posts / pages that don't appear anywhere on site. This is handy if you want to blog something completely off-topic but still great content. It would be handy to be able to charge separately for those posts as well.
I see where it could be useful for some people, but I don't think it is something that would be in too much demand, when it comes down to prioritising what to develop next.
Ok. At least your API allows me to come up with workarounds
