If I've understood the options correctly, advertisers purchase ad space without knowing when their ad will appear. Can you confirm?

If that's the case, are there any plans to incorporate the notion of an ad inventory? Advertisers may not want to buy ads if their ad will only display in 3 months' time and I don't want to waste my time telling them i.e. managing that frustration after the fact.

In the current version, you can't buy a spot in the future. If you purchase an ad (assuming it's approved), it will appear immediately, and the advertiser is notified of that fact. The only way an ad could be delayed 3 months is if the blog owner fails to approve it, or the advertiser fails to make payment.

In v1.6 (once released) there is an "ad queue" feature, that simply enables the blog owner to sell X future spots. The advertiser is provided with an estimated publishing date, which is based on the duration of the ads currently displaying. and what's in the queue. As long as the blog owner doesn't start chopping and changing expiration dates, then that time should be accurate.

The advertiser is also notified when the ad goes live, if it has been previously in the queue.

Sounds like 1.6 is the version that will solve all my problems. Is there an estimated time of arrival?

How pregnant are you with this baby? :)
